How to decide: plural or singular?
Hi teachers, 1. The app that lets parents control their child's phone: New software blocks texts, websites and internet access 2. For many parents, trying to drag their children’s attention away from their phone is a constant battle of wills. 3. But help is at hand thanks to a new app which allows adults to control their offspring’s mobile from afar Notice the pairs: Q1 uses parents - their child's phone. Q2, parents - try to drag their children's attention. And Q3 adults - their offspring's (offspring can be plural, but I don't know if the writer intended plural or singular in Q3. Is there a rule that can help me? Thank you TN

If young "keyboard heroes" say on the computer screen what they know, they would be punished for their words in real life. Looks a missing word is "," or "as". Am I wrong? Or because the clause that "they would be" is connected to...

You should solve it by yourself . VS. You should solve it yourself . All of sudden I was wondering if there is a meaning difference between them? I think they mean the same and they are interchangeable for the same meaning. What do you native English speakers think? Thank you so much as usual and have a good day.

Use of tenses?
Hello, can you, please, help me decide what tense I should use in the sentences below? The verb for the first sentence is "know", and for the other one "visit". Here are my guesses: Kate had lived in a small town where people knew/know one another. Kate had lived in a small town where people would visit one another often. KNOW Kate had lived in a small town where people ..... one another. (know) Kate had lived in a small town where people ..... one another often. (visit) Thank you
