Hi everybody, I would like to ask about sentence structure and meaning relations between sentences. "Subjects who had written about feeling powerless offered to pay more luxury products such as stylish pen or fur coat, yet desire for a quick fix for feelings of low status may put those who regularly feel as if they lack influence at a greater risk of having enormous debt - or at least of making some questionable invesments" There, "put those who...." and "as if they..." could please help me to understand these sentence structure? What is the grammatical relation between sentences? Thank you very much.

Hi. Do you think this example is future in the past? Do you think it works? I made it up myself. [Now is at 1 pm and they made the decision to stay at home for the whole day at 7 am] (the speaker said at 1 pm) If they hadn’t made the decision to stay at home for the whole day at 7 am, they would have had the chance to watch the street show at 7 pm. Thank you.

Does "which is at stake" in the following context mean "which is at risk" or "which is considered (which is the subject of discussion)"? Context: Working as he does across a range of disciplines and in a range of media, it makes sense to style Kaye according to the Renaissance model of the cultural producer as a man of ‘varied talent and learning’. Kaye makes a clear distinction between his advertising work and his other more self-generated projects, claiming art, for instance, as a pure activity and advertising as somehow contaminated. This returns to a point that I raised in the introduction concerning the relativity of people’s ideas of art and the survival of dominant perceptions of what art is and what it is not. In this case, it...
