Should 'Being' Be Removed?
One day, the fox was being chased by a lion and it tried to flee for its life. Just when the fox was thinking, “Just a little more and the lion would be catching up to me,” it chanced upon a well just right in front and without hesitation, it jumped into the well. The lion which was chasing its prey saw the depth of the well and realised that it would not be able to enter it. The lion had no choice but to give up on its prey, which was almost within its reach and left. The fox heaved a sigh of relief and thought, “ I was saved ”. 1. Should 'being' be removed? 2. Is 'I was saved' correct? Thanks.

Types Of Pivots?
Can you please explain what is "pivots" in this context? And customer development is done almost entirely outside the building in front of customers and partners and other stakeholders in the business model as you're testing your hypotheses with a series of experiments to figure out whether they are correct or not. And if incorrect what types of iterations, small changes, or what types of pivots , large changes, to your business model do you need to make?

Doubts On An Extract?
Could you check if there are any mistakes in this extract (I will include all sentences in order to give the context and leave underlied my intended meaning): "I don't doubt that she speaks English much better than me. Because she attended an American university. And not only THE TEACHING WAS DELIVERED in English, but she was also required to show a high level of proficiency TO GET APPROVAL in the subjects. Besides, by living at least 4 years in an English-speaking country, she had to communicate in English all the time, which gives oneself fluency (or the ability to speak at a normal rate), aside from PUTTING YOURSELF IN MANY SOCIAL SITUATIONS which are difficult to cover in programs of English as a second language." Question About Sentences?
Dear all, Please see the following sentences. I would like to know whether they belong to type 2 conditionals. "would be able to" is new to me. I feel that the first sentence doesn't belong to 2nd conditional, eventhough others belong to it. 1) If you were more careful, you would be able to avoid the accident. 2) If you started early, you would be able to reach early. 3) If the police were more vigilant, they would be able to arrest him. Thank you.

Just Add A Little More?
Could you amend my sentences? Just add a little more weight (to or onto?) the right arm of the crane to balance it out. Do it carefully tho or it might get lopsided and the whole thing will fall to the ground.

Have You Asked VS Did You Ask?
Hey there, Again, confusing tenses take the stage... Have you asked anyone about it? Sounds a bit odd, but on the other hand don't we use the present perfect for recent actions? Did you ask anyone about it? Sounds a great deal more common, but why do we use the past simple here? Thanks

Question - (Refer) Doing It On Large Campuses?
Does "doing" it on large campuses, refer that they will put the lawnmower in large campuses? or maybe the "doing" is that they will build/develop the machine on the campuses? So one of my favorite examples is a student team out of Stanford. They decided that the world's best thing they could think of building is a robotic lawnmower, maybe doing it on large campuses or something else. And they were actually pretty good computer scientists. They understood machine vision and understood all of this other stuff. But they didn't quite understand how it would fit as a business.

Recognize Grass?
It's about costumer development. What does it mean to "recognize grass "? I'm not sure if grass is the green part or it's actually refer to weeds... I'm confused by this example So the teaching team nicely suggested that, you know, in California we actually have agriculture outside of Silicon Valley, about 60 miles away is Salinas Valley. We said if you could recognize grass could you maybe recognize plants or weeds. And they went yeah, maybe we could. So they got out of the building again, this time talking to farmers, asking them would it be any value to actually be able to tell the difference between a weed and a plant and maybe some way to automatically kill the weeds.

Don't .... And/Or...
I have made up two sets of similar sentences below. (1a) I don't eat breakfast, read short stories, and borrow books from the library. (1b) I don't eat breakfast, read short stories, or borrow books from the library. (2a) I usually don't put books, computers, and fans in my bedroom. (2b) I usually don't put books, computers, or fans in my bedroom. My non-native English speaking friends think "or" always works in negative statements like the "a" versions above. In their opinion, the "a" versions with "and" don't make much sense. I agree that the "b" sentences are OK because they suggest that you don't do or have any one of those things mentioned. I am not sure if native English speakers use "and" in negative sentences...
