I have to spell out the year in quoted dialogue for work. Are these correct? He said, “I like the nineteen-eighty-two song ‘I Love Rock and Roll.’ ” “I loved the nineteen-seventies' fashions!” Apostrophe after “seventies”? Joe said, “Nineteen fifty-nine was a great year for rock and roll.” She said, “My sister was born in nineteen seventy-eight, and my brother was born in nineteen-seventy.” Are the hyphens correctly employed in the aforementioned examples? Thank you.
