I don't feel well / good?

Hi there, "feel" is still confusing me a little bit, so to say I am not aware of its correct usage. One can say: "I am not feeling well" and "I don't feel well", can't one say? However I thought that "feel" is among verbs like "sound", "look", "smell", which means that after them usually an adjective follows. For example: "It smells good". Additionally I am asking myself how to ask someone about his or her wellbeing. "How do you feel this morning?" or "How are you feeling this morning?" Please help me with this one Thanks!
